CD Projekt Red has provided some new details about the upcoming Witcher remake open world game during its recent investor presentation. Fans of the original game will undoubtedly have a substantially different gaming experience.

A few specifics were provided by CD Projekt Red in their announcement last month, however, the latest third-quarter financial report has given us a little more information. According to CD Projekt, “The Witcher Remake is a story-driven, single-player, open-world RPG — a modern reimagining of 2007’s The Witcher.”

The Witcher remake is confirmed to be an open world game.

It aroused many questions when fans learned last month that CD Projekt Red and the Fool’s Theory were partnering on a remake of the original The Witcher. However, now a few of them are answered, though a few including their release date still remain unanswered.

The Witcher, a single-player RPG that was originally made available for the PC in 2007, was not an open world game due to its constrained scope. When compared to the 2007 original, CD Projekt’s planned remake of The Witcher will take a significant step forward. Unlike the original game (which was somewhat simple) The Witcher Remake will have an open world. With improved visuals and realism, Unreal Engine 5 will power The Witcher remake.

Moreover, as reported by IGN, fans may expect to explore Vizima again. The capital of Temeri, Vizima, was the setting for Geralt’s adventures in the first Witcher; the same city is also available in passing in The Witcher 3. While the third game only allowed players to enter the royal castle, The Witcher remake open world game will let them explore Vizima, its environs, and so more.

The Witcher Remake is now being worked on at the Fool’s Theory studio under the codename “Canis Majoris,” according to CD Projekt’s recent confirmation. Even though not many details about this next game have been revealed, we now know that there will be a significant difference between the new remake and the original in one critical element.
