Today, the American tech giant Apple has registered three new Macs with the Eurasian Economic Commission database, EEC certification. The upcoming Mac devices bearing model numbers A2615, A2686, and A2681 have been listed ahead of the company’s Spring event, reportedly scheduled for March 8.
The A2681 device is said to be a laptop, and it’s possible that it’s the M2 MacBook Pro. The other two devices might be the new M1 Pro Mac mini and M1 Pro iMac. On the other hand, the Macs with model numbers A2615, A2681, and A2686 have no further information.
Remember that Apple updated the Eurasian Economic Commission database last month with devices that could be the new 2022 iPhone SE 3 and iPad Air 5 models, indicating a new iPhone SE generation with 5G capabilities and a spec-bumped iPad Air are on the way.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is organizing its first virtual media gathering of the year on March 8, implying that ‘a new Mac’ will be unveiled there.
This date makes sense because Apple goods typically emerge in the Eurasian database 1-3 months before they are released. However, there is no certainty, because model identifiers may be published for up to a year before becoming a genuine product.
Apple is required by the Eurasian Economic Commission to register any devices that use encryption technology, and as a result, this database has become a very powerful indicator of Apple’s short-term roadmaps in recent years.
The American tech giant has previously stated that the Apple Silicon transition will be completed in two years, implying that a slew of new Macs will be released this year.
It is also reported that Apple is working on a second-generation Apple Silicon MacBook Air with a major chassis overhaul, but this gadget isn’t expected until later this year.
The high-end Mac mini and an iMac Pro or Apple Silicon Mac Pro teaser could be unveiled at the March presentation.
However, it makes the most sense for Apple to save the Mac Pro announcement for the WWDC keynote in June when the developer crowd would be in attendance.
