Apple chief executive officer, Tim Cook will probably leave the company in the next 10 years as he expressed his thoughts on not expecting to remain at the company for the next decade, but is not planning resignation any time soon.

Cook revealed his intentions during an interview with New York Times when the writer Kara Swisher asked him about his succession plans. Although he declined to reveal anything about it, he did say how long he plans to remain in Apple.

In her podcast interview, writer Swisher asked cook if he is willing to stay in the company for ten more years. Cook replied that he may not be there for that much time, but he is currently enjoying the place he holds and has not think of resignation yet.

“Ten more years? Probably not. But I can tell you that I feel great right now and the date is not in sight. But ten more years is a long time – and probably not ten more years.”

As he was asked about his plans after he leaves Apple, Cook replied, “I don’t have a clue because I love this company so much, that it is hard to imagine my life without it. And so I don’t think I will know that until after I’m not here. Because I think I will run so fast that I’ll never really think about it until I’m not running anymore. Does that make any sense?”

This year in August, Cook will complete 10 long years of being the CEO of Apple. He joined Apple in March 1998 as a senior vice president for worldwide operations and then served as the executive vice president for worldwide sales and operations. He became the chief executive officer in Apple on August 24, 2011. Cook is one of the top-paid CEOs in the world receiving more than $133 million in compensation in 2019. As per the reports, Apple’s market value increased from $348 billion to $1.9 trillion during his reign as the CEO.
