October 5th, 2018 marked the seventh death anniversary of Apple co-founder and chief executive Steve Jobs, and Tim Cook remembered his former employer on Twitter.
“Steve showed me – and all of us – what it means to serve humanity. We miss him, today and every day, and we’ll never forget the example he set for us”, said the tweet which was posted with a picture of Jobs in a young age.
Steve Jobs was undoubtedly the man who revolutionized the entire communication technology industry. From phones to PCs, tablets to music, even music and digital publishing, this man has left his indelible mark everywhere. Steve Jobs created Apple in 1976 his friends Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne and in the course of the company’s trade, it introduced three imperative devices, the McIntosh(1984), the iPod(2001) and iPhone(2007).
Jobs had a long and pathetic fight with pancreatic cancer, and he took his last breath seven years from now. He continued as the company’s chairman until he died but he had handed over to Cook before his death. Cook’s tweets have been an annual thing, and not only in social media but in all his interviews, he remembers Jobs with humility and affection.
On being asked about his experience on working with Jobs, Tim mentioned in an interview, “I found it to be liberating, is the way I would describe it. Because you could talk to Steve about something really big, and if it resonated with him, he would just say ‘Ok’ – and you could do it! It was like a total revelation for me that a company could run like this because I was used to these layers and bureaucracies and studies – the sort of paralysis that companies could get into – and Apple was totally different. I realized that if I couldn’t get something done, I could just go to the nearest mirror and look at it and that was the reason.”
Like Tim, any and everyone Jobs worked with or interacted with remembers him on his death anniversary as one of the most inspiring people they’ve met.
