In a bid to enhance the technology space, the American multinational semiconductor company AMD set the May 23rd to May 26th, 2022, for the 2022 COMPUTEX Show, with the themes: “AMD Advancing the High-Performance Computing Experience.”
As the Computex 2022 Show begins today in Taipei, Taiwan it is a great sign of transformation in the technology industry, setting goals for the years to come. Being a memorable event, Computex 2022 is seen as the largest ICT trade show in Asia and the second largest in the world.
Unlike what has been obtained in the last two years, where the event is held remotely due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. However, this year’s Computex Show is an exciting one held physically, featuring several tech giants the likes of Hybrid. Acer, AMD, ASUS, Delta, GIGABYTE, Micron Technology, MSI, NVIDIA, NXP, and Supermicro among others.
Starting with the AMD Computex 2022 Keynote from CEO Dr. Lisa Su to open the conference. In her words: “High-performance computing plays such an essential role in our daily lives, and AMD is committed to always pushing the envelope on performance and innovation. At this year’s COMPUTEX, AMD will share how we accelerate innovation with our broad ecosystem of partners.”
The Computex 2022 revolve around six major themes: Accelerating Intelligence, Connected X-Experience, Digital Resilience, Innovative Computing, Sustainability, and Innovations and Startups. The CEO Dr. Lisa Su shares the AMD vision to advance the PC experience through next-generation mobile and desktop PC innovations. Combining cutting-edge CPUs, GPUs, and software.
As a milestone event. It is expected to feature the unveiling of the world’s first 5nm PC Processor Cores “Zen 4” CPU core chipsets in 5nm All-new I/O Die in 6nm, integrated AMD RDNA™ 2 graphics, and Advanced low-power architecture; AMD Ryzen 7000 Series Processors of over 15% setter single-threaded performance.
AMD estimates that their Zen 4-based Ryzen desktop CPUs will provide a 15 percent performance boost in this area. Users should also expect a new range of SKUs that can attain maximum boost clocks of over 5 GHz right out of the box, a number that even the current Ryzen 9 5950X flagship can’t quite equal on its official spec sheet.
AMD has confirmed that the Ryzen 7000 series will support both the PCIe Gen5 standard and DDR5 memory technology. AM4 coolers will be compatible with the LGA1718 socket. In terms of performance, AMD claims that their Zen4 core architecture would provide over 15% single-thread uplift, a 2X larger (1MB) L2 cache per core, and Max Boost speeds of over 5 GHz.
