The world’s most popular chip maker from an unpopular country, TSMC, is moving its trappings to the land of fame. TSMC founder Zhang Zhongmou has partaken in the press conference of the 2022 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) delegation returning to Taiwan today.
During the event, Zhang undisclosed that the TSMC is focusing on the United States of America in the next phase of the 3nm process to deploy the troops in the land of opportunity.
TSMC is still teetering to ship the maximum quantity of goods to numerous places. Zhang Zhongmou further added that TSMC would organize the first chunk of equipment delivery event in Arizona, US, on December 6; he will partake in the event alongside his wife. TSMC is likely to invest in 5nm in the US. Zhang Zhongmou highlighted that Taiwan has already secured 3nm, and there’s been a blueprint that the company will sketch in the coming days but isn’t put aside but has not been finalized either.
In Arizona, the first stage will be added and embraces the nature of 5nm. The company will further take the production to 3nm after deploying 5nm in the country. Because it is not possible for TSMC to besprinkle production to various places, soon after the 5nm, the second stage will move 3nm to the United States.
Commenting on the international sensation of the “de-Taiwanization” of chips, Zhang Zhongmou explained that now people have come to know that chips are playing a vital role in the tech industry, and many are getting jealous of Taiwan’s production of nuanced chips. Reasons playing such as national security, profit, and making money.
