Around two years back, Uber launched UberCLUB, which was meant exclusively for its driver partners. UberCLUB is a customized rewards program that will bring to the front the excellent service provided by the driver partners and the main reward of this UberCLUB would be that the driver partners will get a major push from Uber itself to grow their business by reducing the overall operating costs.
Now the company has also thought about bringing out a similar rewards scheme for their riders. However, the company has not made any official announcement regarding this matter.
It has been revealed during an APK teardown of the 4.2 version of the app that the possible Uber rewards program will have three levels, of Gold, Platinum, and Diamond, with Gold being the lowest and Diamond being the highest level. This division of the levels is the same as the program meant for its driver partners.
Whenever a rider moves up a level, he/she will be able to reap the benefits of that level. Once they reach the Diamond level, they will be able to use all the benefits which come with it. For example, they will be charged lower fares during a surge, and they may have access to only the highest-rated driver partners.
Uber is also tightening up their ride security for the riders. The new safety feature is called Ride Check. This security setting will be activated if and when Uber detects an unexpected or long stop through the GPS in the driver partner’s phone. Uber app will ask the riders if they need any help in case of any abnormality. The new Ride Check feature is expected to be rolled out within the next few weeks. However, the UberCLUB app for riders may take some time to come out in the market as the company has not officially announced it.
