As we just discovered via a Twitter leak, it seems the South Korean mobile giant is gearing up to unveil a new foldable smartphone aside from the Galaxy Z Fold And Galaxy Z Flip soon.
Over the years, Samsung has been the market leader in the foldable smartphone space and is the first mobile manufacturing company to unveil a commercial foldable smartphone.
According to the leaker @Ice Universe, who has a good track record of revealing information about the upcoming Samsung foldable smartphone noted the smartphone is presently in the development stage and will be the company’s third foldable gadget aside from the Galaxy Z Fold And Galaxy Z Flip.
Reports have revealed that the phone is known as “Diamond,” and it is expected to hit the market in the second half of this year.
Ice Universe has also posted a photo of some Samsung execs holding the upcoming smartphone. Although the image does not provide a clear view of the device, it does suggest that it will have a distinct shape.
Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, the forthcoming Samsung foldable does not appear to contain a hinge. This leads us to believe that it will have a rollable screen.
Going by the image and video shared by the leaker, the upcoming foldable smartphone is likely to be a scroll screen phone.
The design of Samsung’s next rollable display smartphone could be similar to that of OPPO’s concept OPPO X 2021 phone. If that’s the case, the phone will very certainly include a motorized component that allows the rollable display to expand and compress according to the user’s demands.
Samsung debuted its new Flex S, Flex G, and Flex Slidable foldable panels for smartphones at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022.
However, the business revealed no intentions to develop such concepts into commercial products. Samsung has been tight-lipped about the next generation of foldable phones. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 successors are expected to be released this year’s second part.
