Apple has introduced the renewal of MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro 13-inch, two computers that offer almost what users were asking the company. Although, along with the inclusion of the Touch Bar in all Pro models, the most striking thing is that it has eliminated the Macbook of 12-inch.
A few weeks ago we talked about the possibility of an upcoming renewal of Apple laptops. Several models had been registered and everything seemed to indicate that there would be updates for the 13-inch Pro model and the MacBook Air. Well indeed, this has been the case.
Let’s start with the new MacBook Air. The team adds True Tone technology to its Retina display in this model. With it, as is already known, the more natural experience is achieved by allowing the color temperature to adapt according to the ambient light. Although it requires adapting to the principle.
At the level of specifications, the equipment is practically maintained with an Intel Core i5 dual-core processor at 1.6 GHz, 128 or 256 GB of SSD storage (can be configured up to 1TB), 8 GB of configurable RAM up to 16 GB, GPU Intel UHD 617 and the rest of features already seen in its previous version. The price of the new 13-inch MacBook Air is 1249 euros and 1499 according to configuration.
The new 13-inch MacBook Pro for its part has been the most beneficial but we still do not understand the very well decisions of Apple. From now on, the first change that you will appreciate is that all the models include the Touch Bar, a compliment that not everyone appreciates and if it were not for the advantages the use of the Apple T2 chip would be much more complex to justify.
The other important change is inside, finally adding four-core processors. The problem is that the clock frequency of the base model is too low. The eighth-generation Intel CPU used runs at 1.4 GHz. It is true that via Turbo Boost it reaches 3.9 GHz, but a minimum to have opted for micro to 2.0 or 2.2 GHz. Even so, we will trust that its performance will be above what we can now intuit.
Two other aspects that do not seem to have heard, despite the multiple requests from users, is the inclusion of more USB ports and an SSD storage unit that booted from 256GB. Well, nothing, the base will have two USB C’s only and a 128 GB SSD.
Regarding the price, the MacBook Pro 13-inch range increases from 1,499 euros and reaches 2,249 euros in the series configurations. Through the customization options, the amount can go much higher.
