Several users of Apple’s iOS 16 updates have expressed dissatisfaction over experiencing a large number of iOS 16 bugs, including slow keyboard pop-ups, random restarts, UI glitches, camera freezes, and more. They claim that this update included the newest features, many bugs, and system flaws.
In September last year, Apple released iOS 16 and has since released multiple follow-up updates to address iOS 16 bugs and provide security patches. The latest update to the operating system was iOS 16.2, released on December 13.

iOS 16 Bugs Seen Even After Update
Despite the most recent iOS 16 update, users have reported seeing an unusually high number of issues and subpar system performance on Twitter, Reddit, the MacRumors forums, and Apple’s support website. Users also reported various problems, including flaws with Spotlight search, keyboards not showing up in apps, quick battery drain, camera app freezes, focus mode problems, Apple Music app bugs, HomeKit accessory issues, and CarPlay glitches.
Lamenting his dissatisfaction, an iOS 16.2 user took to Reddit users and reported that the app could freeze after opening or crash completely while in use.
“This started happening after updating to iOS 16.2, I was using an app (happens on any app) and the app froze for a few seconds.”
Another iPhone 14 Pro Max user, who updated to the iOS 16.2 update, highlighted three bugs he faced after the update.
“My iPhone 14 pro max is by far the buggiest iPhone I’ve used in a LONG time.
-Camera freezes
-Keyboard haptic/sounds randomly change
– keyboard is slow when on WhatsApp calls – the battery getting worse.

iOS 16.2 Update Issues
Additionally, users also reported that issues with the Home app persisted after the iOS 16.2 update. A new feature of this update is an overhaul of the Home app’s architecture. Apple announced the new architecture in June, promising faster and more reliable HomeKit performance.
However, in December, Apple had to pull the update when users complained about the attachment not functioning after the launch of the new app, but the issue is still present in iOS 16.2. iOS 16.2 was released last month after testing with developers and public testers since October.
Thus, through the testing period in October, November, and December, Apple released five updates that addressed bugs and issues reported by testers. Consequently, given that some users encountered a lot of bugs on iOS 16.2, Apple may release iOS 16.2.1 to fix these problems before releasing iOS 16.3 in a few weeks.
