Upon a number of rumours and speculation regarding the Counter-Strike 2, Valve finally confirms its launch in Summer 2023. However, the Valve Corporation has not revealed any precise data regarding the release date, but the game will be a free upgrade to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and will run on Source Engine 2.
With the esteemed announcement, Valve launched Counter-Strike’s new window that says, “The New Era of Counter-Strike Begins this Summer.”
“All of the game’s new features will be revealed when it officially launches this summer, but the road to Counter-Strike 2 begins today as a Limited Test for select CS:GO players. During this testing period, we’ll be evaluating a subset of features to shake out any issues before the worldwide release.” It adds.
The official website handle of CS 2 features new additions to the game. The additions are likely to make some critical impacts on the gameplay. More precisely, they highlighted videos. In these several videos released, Valve gave us a closer look at what Counter-Strike players can expect from the sequel.
First one – The responsive Smoke video, providing some glimpse. The glimpses showcase the surrounding mechanisms where players will be interacting.
The official website shows smoke grenade interaction with gun firing, where the smoke bends itself upon gun firing. This adaptation is about to change the way of combating. In addition, the smoke has learnt to spread over vast areas i.e., from broken windows, and corridors, and even to combine with other gases.
The second video – Moving Beyond Tick Rate
Further, the official document says “Regardless of tick rate, your moving and shooting will be equally responsive and your grenades will always land the same way.”
The Third Video – Levelling Up the World
The third video revealed that some of the maps will be exclusively rebuilt for Counter-Strike 2, meanwhile, the other maps will be benefited from the latest inclusions. The newer inclusions air a new playing style with enhanced visual effects. They will be better, brighter, and cleaner.
Plus, “Bring your entire CS:GO inventory with you to Counter-Strike 2. Not only will you keep every item you’ve collected over the years, but they’ll all benefit from Source 2 lighting and materials.”
Moving further, the Counter-Strike 2 will be seeing gameplay visuals, environment effects, and better UI enchantments. Audio effects are not excluded from this.
Apart from the official website and latest announcements, Counter-Strike 2 reveals more data answering freshers’ questions. In which the foremost question is how players will be selected for Limited Test. Well, Valve clarifies it, the players will be selected by considering various factors that seem necessary for the development team.
Once the player is approved for limited test mode, they will be given an invitation to CS-2.
However, it looks like the players still have to control their eager emotions and wait until the official release of the piece. Given that, the announcement indeed is an important benchmark that not just added hope but provided us with chilling gameplay teasers.
