Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Sacramento saw a live 5G commercial Home (Broadband) network today, with Clayton Harris of Houston becoming the first customer. This is an open 5G TF network aimed at providing Wi-Fi at blazing speed. These 4 cities were among the first to get Verizon’s 5G services because these cities have liberal policies. These innovations and developments are well supported by the leaders who are working towards providing better future-aligned services to the local people besides enhancing growth, development, and better business strategies.
The world’s first commercial 5G service is here. – Ronan Dunne, President of Verizon Wireless
Verizon is, however, planning to upgrade its 5G network base to the formal 3GPP 5G NR standard, and this system shall be extended to the devices, chipsets, software, and equipment as well the software. Those who are currently using the 5G TF platform shall have this facility later at no extra charge. Along with it, other cities shall also enjoy the network services when the internet coverage can be done there after the new equipment is available.
Those who shall be using this technology as “First on 5G Members “ shall get value-added benefits like free Home service for the initial three months. After this, customers with a Verizon network plan for smartphones shall pay only US$ 50, while others shall pay US$70. With this network, they shall also be getting 5G mobility, YouTube TV for free (first 3 months only), and a Google Chromecast Ultra device or Apple TV 4k during installation besides the standard white glove and equipment installation.
We’ve formed incredible partnerships with many of the world’s leading technology companies, the international technical standards bodies, public officials, developers and our own customers to drive the 5G ecosystem forward, faster than most had predicted. – Ronan Dunne
