With the launch of the Vivo Nex and Apex 2019, Vivo has overcome a number of boundaries and abolished a couple of barriers and constraints when it comes to pushing to their full limits. The Nex’s pop-up camera became a sensational thing among the line-up of the Vivo range. From then on, several smartphone brands have tried to incorporate this pop-up camera and avoid the notch together. The recent Vivo V15 models have also made this pop-up camera available for middle-ranged smartphones. Vivo is certainly taking their smartphones to the next level as, according to a recent patent application, Vivo may now launch a dual pop-up selfie camera.
A recent patent application from Vivo has hinted at a new model for the upcoming Vivo smartphone. Normally Vivo applies for a patent that has already been worked on or already been introduced. But on 1st March 2019, in the database of CNIPA, the Chinese patent office appeared a new, unknown model. In this patent, the emphasis is laid on the Vivo double pop-up camera. It is clear in the description section that the Vivo pop-up selfie camera will house not one but two cameras. The illustrations show clearly that the pop camera features two camera sensors. This unknown design shows a striking similarity to Vivo’s Nex smartphone. The back camera is also similar to the Vivo Nex.

However, if Vivo indeed introduces the dual pop-up camera in their upcoming new smartphone, whichever that may be, it would not be the first smartphone manufacturer to do so. The Elephone PX, released at the end of 2018, also features a similar feature with a dual front camera that can be hidden and popped up when the need to use the camera arises. This is not the only smartphone to have this feature. The Energizer Ultimate U620S, which was introduced at the MWC 2019, also has a pop-up camera with two sensors. It was only a matter of time before a well-known smartphone brand introduced the same double sensor pop-up camera as two less known brands.
