In India, Vivo has launched its latest mid-range smartphone, X21 belonging to the X Series. The Vivo X21 launch is in respect to the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia that’s knocking on our doors now.
Vivo X21 is featuring a 6.28-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, supporting 2280 x 1080 pixels. It is a device that comes with a notch and a 90.3% screen-to-body ratio. There are 1.66 mm narrow bezels at the sides, 1.79 mm on top, and 5 mm at the bottom.
The device is loaded with Snapdragon 660 octa-core 14 nm mobile platform that comes with AI features, thanks to the dedicated AIE Chip of Qualcomm. It is backed by Adreno 512 GPU, 6 GB RAM, 128 GB internal, and can be expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card.
X21 is a Hybrid Dual SIM handset with no dedicated slot for memory cards. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with FunTouch OS 4.0. One notable feature is the in-display fingerprint reader. The 3D glass body deserves mention as well.
The dual rear setup for the camera bears a 12 MP primary sensor equipped with a Samsung 2L9 sensor, LED flash, and f1.8 aperture. The 5 MP secondary sensor with an f2.4 aperture is for capturing the depth information. There is AI scene recognition to automatically detect 17 scenes.
The front camera has a 12 MP sensor with AI beauty recognition for selfie enthusiasts. Both the front and rear cameras are equipped with Dual Pixel Technology for better low-light images and fast focus.
X21 houses a 3200mAh battery with fast charging technology. The handset weighs 156.2 grams. Among connectivity specs are 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and GPS.
The smartphone costs Rs. 35,990 in India, being a Flipkart exclusive, and is available in Black color.
