Volkswagen has recently launched two ID.4 sports multi-purpose electric vehicles in China, out of which the ID.4 CROZZ is produced by collaboration with FAW groups, and ID.4 X is made in collaboration with SAIC.
The beginning of marking its entry into the Chinese market as a premium vehicle brand is also an attempt to compete alongside its contemporary Tesla’s Model 3 electric vehicles in China.
Such rapid entry into the Chinese market mostly rocketed after the Chinese Government announced providing electric vehicle subsidies. This also points out that Volkswagen will price these two car models in less than250,000 Yuan while Tesla’s Model 3 is currently worth RMB 24.99.
Comparing these ID.4 vehicles to Tesla’s Model 3, they are double the size of the later model, having a cruising range of more than 400 km and providing wireless software updates.
Based on the “New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Plan (2021-2035)” released on Monday, “pointed out that the development of new energy vehicles is the only way to move from a major automobile country to a powerful automobile country and is a strategic measure to deal with climate change and promote green development.’
Keeping this in mind, Volkswagen is inclined towards producing these vehicles soon as a pioneering game changer for the upcoming market demand for pure electric vehicles.
