Walmart has recently teamed with four new delivery companies to expand its grocery delivery reach further. Recently The Bentonville, Ark.-based retail giant said Thursday that it has partnered with last-mile delivery providers Point Pickup, Skipcart, AxleHire, and Roadie to help power the Walmart Grocery Delivery service in metropolitan areas across four states.
Today, Walmart’s online grocery delivery has ended its partnership with Google-backed Deliv, dealing with a setback from delivering groceries to customers’ homes. But what caused the earliest partner with Walmart to end its collaboration?
According to sources, the two companies stopped their collaboration in late January with a 90-day termination notice. People acquaintance with the matter said that Walmart frequently made Deliv drivers wait for 40 minutes to collect their orders. This was because Walmart prioritized customers over drivers and ended up in a Daedalian partnership.
Walmart now mostly works with restaurant delivery firms that make its delivery quick as and when it is generated. With the help of Walmart’s delivery networks and personal shoppers of these companies, along with other key partners, it would be more convenient as thousands of customers will be able to shop and have fresh groceries delivered to their doorsteps.
Walmart currently offers Grocery Delivery in more than 100 metro areas. In San Jose, Walmart could put up only about a hundred orders a week. Well, the problem has been addressed, and Walmart is working to fix it to process requests faster. The retailer claims to make grocery deliveries to more than 300 metro areas by the end of this year.
