UK, France, Ireland, and Germany Get Apple's Emergency SOS Via Satellite Feature
Apple's emergency SOS via satellite allows iPhone 14 series users running iOS 16.1 or later to contact emergency services when they are in an area with no cellular or WiFi coverage.
During emergence, the feature will ask users questions about their situation. This includes location, altitude, battery level, and Medical ID.
With that, the interface will then guide the user on where to point their iPhone to connect and send the initial message.
The transcript of the questionnaire can then be shared with users' emergency contacts to keep them informed.
Apple's emergency SOS via satellite come with two years of free service once activated.
