Qualcomm has unveiled its latest flagship mobile platform, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, focusing on generative AI with support for multi-modal generative AI models.
The chip features the Qualcomm Hexagon neural processing unit (NPU) and can run games at 240 frames per second on supported displays.
It supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing and has added global illumination capabilities compared to the previous generation chip.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is set to be available on flagship devices from various global OEMs and smartphone brands.
This SoC is based on 4nm processing technology, featuring a new Kryo CPU that delivers improved performance and efficiency compared to its predecessor.
