Twitter Rolls Out Encrypted DMs, For Verified Users

Twitter is rolling out encrypted direct messaging, but with limitations for privacy-conscious users.

Currently, the feature is only available to verified Twitter users, including Twitter Blue subscribers.

Encrypted chats require both users to be verified, and it doesn't support group messages or media other than links.

Twitter does not provide direct reporting for encrypted messages and advises users to report accounts separately.

Elon Musk's desire for stronger encryption, where even Twitter can't access messages, is not yet achieved.
