Swedish mobility company Vässla has launched its electric bike, the Vässla Pedal, in the US.
The bike is available for direct purchase, costing $2,690, or through a subscription plan starting at $109 per month.
Vässla has embraced a subscription model in New York City, where its US headquarters are located.
The Vässla Pedal has a minimalist and striking design, using a single frame tube and lacking exposed wires or buttons.
The e-bike features a 250W nominal and 45 Nm rear hub motor, along with a Gates carbon belt drive system and a 20 mph (32 km/h) top speed.
The bike's lightweight setup and built-in GPS tracker make it an accessible and secure option for urban commuting.
The Vässla Pedal is aimed at improving CO2 emissions and noise-pollution in cities and is a modern masterpiece, according to designer Christian Zanzotti.
