Meta's WhatsApp now allows users to send HD videos alongside HD photos following a recent update.
After updating the app, users can now choose between sending videos in standard quality (480p) or HD quality (720p).
The new "HD" option appears when sending a video, offering improved resolution while warning about larger file sizes.
However, WhatsApp's HD option is limited to 720p, even if the original video is higher quality, like 1080p or 4K.
Unlike the default setting for sending, users must manually select HD quality each time they want to share a higher-quality video.
While these features are already available to some users, the company plans to gradually roll them out to everyone over the next few weeks.
