Good news for the travel lovers who need instant flight booking from their smartphone – Goibibo has made flight booking easier through its new integration with WhatsApp. This will enable the customers to book flight seats directly from WhatsApp without logging into the Online Travel Agent ( OTA) website. Though the partnership was announced last year, it is the first significant step taken by the bot framework in collaboration with WhatsApp for Business purposes.
In the booking window, a user has to go through a multi-step process in order to reserve seats which is a little complicated and time-consuming. With the WhatsApp integration, the company is trying to make it easier by adopting the conversational bot experience.
Goibibo is looking forward to using WhatsApp as a common Business platform, where the users can confirm user bookings, including a provision of ticket confirmations, and download a PDF copy of their tickets. BookMyShow has introduced such integrations earlier. WhatsApp had officially made itself available to be used as a platform for businesses in 2017. Apart from engaging with their customers, they will also provide after-sales support through messaging.

The users can select their desired seats via Goibibo by just replying to its bot on WhatsApp. The seat layout will be displayed by heart emojis because that particular emoji has six colour variants. Customers must reply with their desired seat number when finding a free seat. Goibibo will complete the rest of the job by booking and getting it confirmed. In case of premium seats, a payment link is sent via the bot and the seat is confirmed once the payment is successfully made.
The integration procedure wasn’t easy though. Apart from the multiple modifications, redirections, categories, the designers had to get the seating patterns of various flight model with cent percent accuracy.
Goibibo has officially announced that seat-bookings, using their platform, has increased by almost 5 times and that too within the first few days of the introduction of this new feature. The Integration supports the IndiGo bookings as well. It is believed to be live on every domestic and international airline in near future.
