As part of its commitment to enriching users’ experience on its platform, the American social media service WhatsApp has officially announced today that it is releasing the ability to forward images, videos, GIFs, and documents, with a caption, to some beta testers.
As reported by WABetainfo, the new feature named “Forward media with a caption” is rolled out in the latest WhatsApp update released through the TestFlight beta Program, bringing the version up to 22.23.0.72. The version marked within WhatsApp Settings is 2.22.23.72, and the TestFlight build is 22.23.0.
WhatsApp Media Caption Feature
The media caption feature is very easy to discover if it is already available for your WhatsApp account. To confirm that, just try forwarding an image with a caption, and if you see a new view at the bottom of the screen, it means you can start forwarding media with their caption.
Once it is compatible with your WhatsApp account, you will not only be able to forward an image with a caption but also forward videos, GIFs, and documents as well.
At the same time, you always have the choice of what to forward. For example, if you decide not to forward the caption with the media, you can simply do so by tapping the dismiss button in the forwarded message view. Please wait for a future update that will enable this function for more users if you don’t already have it enabled for your account.
After installing the most recent beta update from the TestFlight app, certain beta testers were able to forward pictures, videos, GIFs, and documents that included their captions. This feature will gradually be made available to more people over the following weeks. Thus, stay connected with TechGenyz as we bring you the latest updates in the tech world.
