As part of its commitment to enhancing users’ experience on its platform, the American social media service WhatsApp has officially launched the “video call link” feature that allows users to click on the link to join calls. Likewise, the social media service also revealed today that it is working on a camera mode for future app updates.
WhatsApp Video Call Link Feature
Recall that last night, Meta chairman and CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted on his Facebook that its social media platform WhatsApp will launch a “call link” feature. Now, the WhatsApp video call link feature has been officially launched.
In his words: “We’re rolling out call links on WhatsApp starting this week so you can share a link to start a call with a single tap. We’re also testing secure encrypted video calling for up to 32 people. More coming soon.”
With the feature, WhatsApp users can create a link and share it, and the rest simply click the link to join and start the call. To do that, simply click “Calls” on WhatsApp, choose “Create call link,” and the system will generate a call or video call link for users to share directly with family and friends so they may join the video call.
However, it should be noted that to enjoy this new feature, users must update WhatsApp to the most recent version, and this feature will be gradually rolled out this week. Apps like Google Meet and Zoom frequently include links to video calls. Now that WhatsApp will also roll out this feature, we believe it is a step forward to ensure users’ convenience

WhatsApp Camera Mode Feature In The Making
On the other hand, the social media service is also reportedly working on a camera mode feature for a future update of the app. According to WaBetaInfo, the new feature is still under development but will be released soon.
WaBetaInfo disclosed this today in a post revealing that the American instant messaging service is working on a new feature that allows users to switch the camera mode from photo to video and vice versa.
