Finally, the long-awaited Apple annual developer conference WWDC 2023 kicked off yesterday, Monday, June 5, and will run till June 9th. The event is one of the biggest and most exciting tech conferences in the world, featuring the launch of Apple’s new product, fun, competition, and a keynote speech by developers, students, and media.
Like every year conference, Apple introduced its latest technological devices consisting of hardware and software on the first day of the event. The most fascinating of all is the awaited virtual reality headset which tends to revolutionize the tech sphere. Now, let’s take a tour of what Apple has announced so far.

Apple Vision Pro
As the most anticipated product in the conference, Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, said the Vision Pro is built upon decades of Apple innovation. The Vision Pro is a ground-breaking spatial computer that allows users to stay present and connected to people while seamlessly fusing digital information with the real environment.
The Vision Pro headset gives consumers the ability to engage with digital information in a way that makes it feel like it is physically present in their location, thanks to visionOS, the first spatial operating system in the world. The headset incorporates both augmented and virtual reality, requiring wearers to only use their eyes, hands and voice to control.
According to Apple, by next year, the Vision Pro will be offered with a starting price of $3499.
iPad 17
Also introduced on the first day is the iPadOS 17 software update. The new iPad OS update brings new features to the Lock Screen, working with PDFs, Notes, Messages, stickers, FaceTime video, and audio messages.
It gives users new ways to express themselves, share content or contact information, and view information at a glance with a feature called StandBy. Additionally, iOS 17 also introduces Journal, an app that gives users a way to reflect and practice gratitude and focus on their well-being.
Apple said the iPadOS 17 will be available as a free software update in September 2023 but is currently available as a developer beta.
New MacBook Air
Apple introduced MacBook Air as the World’s Best 15-inch laptop with an expansive 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display. The laptop comes with an extraordinary performance of M2 and up to 18 hours of battery life and is powered by a Core i7 processor that allows users to work, play, or create anything, and anywhere.
Other features in the new 15-inch MacBook Air include an all-new six-speaker sound system, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, MagSafe charging, and the power and ease of macOS Ventura. The laptop will be available starting from June 13 at £1,399.
New Mac Studio
The new Mac Studio gives professionals the tools they need to create the studio of their dreams. Mac Studio offers a significant performance improvement over the previous generation with M2 Max and the new M2 Ultra, as well as a significant step up for users upgrading from older Macs.
New Mac Pro
On the other hand, the new Mac Pro, which now includes M2 Ultra, combines the flexibility of PCIe expansion with the unmatched performance of Apple’s most potent CPU. Apple’s WatchOS 10
Announced on the one are is the new watchOS 10 which comes with redesigned apps, a new Smart Stack, new watch faces, new metrics, Workout Views, Bluetooth connectivity for power meters, speed sensors, cadence sensors for cyclists, new Compass Waypoints, new Maps capabilities, and better Mindfulness app. Apple said by September 2023, the new watchOS 10 will become a free software update.
M2 Ultra
M2 Ultra has 134 billion transistors — 20 billion more than M1 Ultra — and was created using a second-generation 5-nanometer technology. The new Mac Studio and Mac Pro are the most powerful Mac desktops ever constructed thanks to M2 Ultra, the biggest and most capable chip Apple has ever produced.
A groundbreaking 192GB of memory capacity, which is 50% greater than the M1 Ultra, is supported by its unified memory architecture. It has a memory bandwidth of 800GB/s, which is twice as fast as M2 Max. The M2 Ultra has a stronger CPU that is 20% quicker than the M1 Ultra, a larger GPU that is up to 30% faster, and a Neural Engine that is up to 40% faster.
macOS Sonoma
MacOS Sonoma is the latest version of the Mac operating system that brings a rich set of features that elevate the experience of the world’s most advanced desktop operating system. With the advent of Game Mode, which offers an optimized gaming experience, gaming on Mac becomes even better.
It has new gorgeous screensavers, potent widgets, and more interesting video conferencing capabilities like Presenter Overlay, which overlays a presenter over the shared content, and Reactions, which enables entertaining gesture-triggered cinematic video effects.
tvOS 17
With tvOS 17, Apple TV 4K users may use FaceTime on their TV for the first time to have even more interesting interactions with their loved ones. The new FaceTime app on Apple TV utilizes the device’s camera and microphone to connect users on the TV through a wireless connection to their iPhone or iPad with Continuity Camera compatibility.
Starting in September 2023, Apple TV 4K users can initiate FaceTime video calls directly from Apple TV, or start calls on iPhone or iPad, and transfer them to Apple TV.
AirPods Pro
And finally, the second generation of AirPods Pro will gain new functionality this fall with the help of three potent new features: Adaptive Audio, Personalized Volume, and Conversation Awareness.
