Xbox has said that it will provide full updates on upcoming games and even more during this year’s all-digital Gamescom event slated for later in August.
Gamescom will be kicking off later this month, and Xbox has confirmed that it’ll be part of the show. Although the show would still be sticking to an all-digital showcase event again this year as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Xbox says that it will provide full updates on Xbox Game Studios titles that have been announced prior to this time. It will also be making some third-party partner announcements.
In a tweet by Xbox’s Aaron Greenberg, he reiterated how that their stream this year would be focused mainly on upcoming games. Greenberg further explained that there would be no new reveals or major surprises, but the Xbox team has planned a stream that will be so much fun.
Also scheduled to be in the Xbox Show by 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on August 24, is news on new additions to Xbox Game Pass, which will be streamed live on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Teacher. GameSpot will also provide extensive coverage of the event this year.
In addition to this, Xbox released a teaser that some of its games will be featured on August 25’s Gamescom: Opening Night Live, a show hosted by Geoff Keighley.
As for Xbox’s collection of first-party studios under Bethesda, there will be a livestream event for several days which will be hosted by the publisher beginning from August 26. Also in celebration of Gamescom 2021, Microsoft will run a digital Xbox sale with some games discounted by up to 75% on both console and PC.
Gamescom this year, will run from August 26 to August 27 right after Opening Night Live, and publishers that have been confirmed so far include Sega, EA, and Activision. Although this year’s Gamescom event was initially planned to be a mix of online livestream and in-person events, but those plans were later cancelled for an all digital livestream experience for the second year running due to persistent COVID-19 restrictions.
