At the beginning of the month, there was information that a new model will appear in the Xiaomi wireless headphone line. Today at a press conference on the new Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G smartphones and the very expensive innovative smartphone Xiaom Mi Mix Alpha, a formal announcement of the Xiaomi Air 2 true wireless Bluetooth headphones took place.
As expected, instead of long names in the spirit of AirDots: Mi True Wireless Earphones, the company chose a very concise name Xiaomi Air 2.
They did not tell about the characteristics of the new headphones at the conference, noting only that they are already available for purchase at a price of $56. Also during the presentation, it was shown that with smartphones will be running MIUI 11 and the headphones will synchronize with one touch.
The “in hear” factor has been abandoned for a more classic and comfortable in the long run as for the Apple Air Pods. The new LHDC codec has been adopted (low latency and high definition audio codec) which is already supported by the Mi 9 Pro.
LHDC ™ stands for low-latency and high-definition audio codecs. Compared to the SBC Bluetooth audio format, LHDC ™ allows the transmission of triple data. LHDC ™ provides a more realistic and high definition wireless audio completely eliminating the current differences between devices with cable and without.
Thanks to the new MIUI 11 that Xiaomi Air 2 will be supported by a new graphic interface that will simplify the combination and use. In a similar way (or the same) to the Apple AirPods, the connection will activate a popup that shows the connection status.
The new Xiaomi AirDots 2 wireless headphones come with a design similar to that of the previous Airdots Pro, once again inspired by the famous Cupertino rivals.
The Xiaomi Air 2 True Wireless Bluetooth headphones feature HD audio and Bluetooth LHDC support and incorporate a 14.2 mm titanium-coated diagram (for full bass remains and clear reproduction of voices and musical instruments). There is support for environmental noise reduction technology.
