Xiaomi India’s official Twitter handle announced today that it has increased the prices of its two recently launched budget smartphones Redmi 6; Redmi 6A along with these two devices, the company has also increased the prices of popular Mi Powerbank 2i and Mi TV. As a reason for the hike, the company puts forward the major reason as the increase in input cost due to the depreciation of rupee against the dollar.

Earlier this year, Xiaomi, after launching the Redmi Note 5 Pro and Mi TV 4 for Rs. 13,999 and Rs. 39,999 respectively, decided to increase the prices of these two products it seems that they’re now walking on the same steps with these recently launched products.
The Redmi 6 will now retail for Rs. 8,499 instead of the Rs. 7,999 launch price. The Mi LED TV 4C Pro 32 and 4A Pro 49 will now be sold for Rs. 15,999 and Rs. 31,999 respectively which is Rs. 1000 and Rs. 2000.
The new prices are announced to be effective from 11th November 2018 at 12 AM.
