After launching the Mi anti-pollution mask earlier in China, Xiaomi has now teased its release in India tomorrow via its Mi account on Twitter. While Delhi, the capital of India, might be the most polluted city in the world, the company thought to release the product first in China.
According to reports, four of the top ten most polluted cities are in India, and if that isn’t alarming enough, the recent smog in the national capital has undoubtedly brought the spotlight on this rising issue. Xiaomi’s Twitter post hints that its high-tech anti-pollution mask powered by a tiny battery to filter out PM 2.5 particles will be revealed tomorrow.
The Xiaomi Mi mask in China has a replaceable filter placed on the right side, along with a removable cartridge to replace whenever needed. The Xiaomi air mask is made from intricate materials and can achieve PM2.5 filtration with an efficiency of up to 99 per cent. The filter is attached with an ultra-thin fan. There is a button to power on / off and three-level speed controls on the top, whereas the micro USB charging port is placed at the bottom. The fan mechanism is powered by a rechargeable polymer lithium-ion battery that can last for up to 3-4 hours on a full charge.
It’s a portable, lightweight air-face mask made from cloth. The Xiaomi anti-haze face mask is made of fabric, making it easier to wash and clean regularly. Xiaomi Air Mask is made of three-dimensional design, and since it’s made of cloth, it can be kept clean daily.
The Xiaomi air face mask is priced at 99 CNY, giving us an idea that the new to be unveiled product will be roughly Rs 900 in India. This will be a crowdfunding project with a growing market for such technology in India along with the growing pollution.
