The Chinese tech-giant Xiaomi had been teasing its upcoming product, a router called Xiaomi router AX1800, for some time now. A week ago, the company had announced that it would soon share details about the router and its release date soon.
Xiaomi now has finally announced the router, and also mentioned that it will be available from May 15 onwards as a deposit pre-sale, and it is priced at 299 yuan.
Xiaomi’s router certainly looks the part to be considered as one of the advanced, futuristic-looking products. Its design is unique on its own. The Xiaomi AX1800 employs what could be termed as a cube design, and the officials are calling the design ‘Cool Black Rubik Cube’.
The design of the router places an inner triangle splicing shape similar to building blocks at the top. The router features two hidden antennas, and according to Xiaomi, it could achieve signal coverage of 360 degrees. To keep the entire machine stable, cool, and fully functional, Xiaomi has added an internal tower heat dissipation structure supplemented by large channel convection and super-large metal heat sink.
In terms of signal speed, 2.4GHz/5GHz supports 2×2, each equipped with two independent signal amplifiers, and the coverage is increased by 50%. The downloading speed can climb up to 1775Mbps and can download a high-def movie in just 8 seconds. In terms of speed, it is faster than an average router available on the market. It should be mentioned that the download speed of the AX1800 is 52% faster than that of another Xiaomi router, the AC1200.
Xiaomi AX1800 router supports functions such as OFDMA, mesh networking, and, Mijia APP secret-free access. Furthermore, the router can also support a stable connection of up to 129 devices.
Even though Xiaomi had announced its launch date and availability in China where the router is to go on pre-sale, but as for its global launch or its launch in India still remains unknown.
