Xiaomi Blackshark has been officially launched today, April 13, in Beijing, and we have received specs and price details. Starting from the make of the body to the premium specs, every single aspect of the phone screams out the fact that it’s dedicated to gaming.
For a start, Blackshark comes with an unusual grip on smartphones but provides a perfect grip to the gamers. It has a 5.99-inch screen with a standard 18:9 aspect ratio. The large display has a fingerprint sensor just below.
Additionally, the phone offers a maximum of 500 nits of brightness. The rear panel hosts ‘S’ breathing LED lights. It has the backup of a high color gamut of NTSC 95%.
The phone is powered by a 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. It is coupled with Adreno 630 GPU and Kryo 385 CPU. The device scored 279,464 on the Antutu benchmark test.
It further possesses a multilayer cooling system as well as a cooling water arrangement. There is a 4000mAh non-removable battery that’ll let users play graphics-intensive games (Glory of the King, for one) for 5 hours a stretch.
Alongside gaming, Blackshark also focuses on photography. It brings an independent image processing chip on board for enhanced image quality. The phone is accompanied by a swap-on gaming controller. This completes a device set for passionate gamers.
The handset runs the MIUI-based JOY UI and even includes a few MIUI apps. An interesting feature is the dedicated Shark Space for enjoying uninterrupted gaming when enabled. The quality contrast in display and the device’s sound system are also impressive.
Other features entail a high-pressure dual engine, fast charging, DCI-P3 and video HDR content support, and MEMC. The MEMC intelligent motion compensation technology provides a smoother game scene!
There are two variants of Blackshark: 6GB+64GB priced at 2,999 Yuan and 8GB+128GB, costing 3,499 Yuan. The gaming controller costs 179 Yuan, and the first 50,000 buyers will receive it for free.
