Xiaomi’s ecosystem companion Huami launched its latest wearable, Amazfit Smartwatch, in China. Till date the company launched only fitness bands under Amazfit. But now Amazfit Watch is also in the air, the company’s first smartwatch.
It can easily resist water and dust and is IP67 certified. The Amazfit Watch is also the world’s first smartwatch to be equipped with a 28nm GPS sensor. It is priced at 799 Yuan (approx $120 / Rs. 8,000) and will be available starting from tomorrow only in China.
This Amazfit watch does not run Android Wear, moreover, Xiaomi says that it’ll interface with the Mi Fit app to point out exercise and utilization statistics.
The watch is having 1.34-inch show with a decision of 300 x 300 and runs on a 1.2GHz processor together with 512MB of RAM. You will get 4GB of onboard storage and the 200mAh battery and runs 5 days on a full charge or 30 hours when you’ve got GPS enabled. Moreover, it is mentioned to give 35 hours of battery life, while the for just tracking steps, it can last up to 11.6 days.
The bezel of the watch is made of ceramic which makes it scratch resistant. The wristband and be user replaceable, and dial can be attached to any other 22nm band.
On the back of the dial there is the heart rate sensor that can continuously track the heart rate, dissimilar to Mi bands. The Amazfit Watch can also be used for on-the-go payments with Alibaba’s mobile payment service AliPay.
Amazfit smartwatches are expected to go on sale in China from August 31 for ¥799 ($120).
