Xiaomi has launched the 6.44-inch display phone, the largest smartphone by the company Mi Max and the new MIUI 8 today. This is the third phone by the company since it launched Mi5 at MWC in February 2016 and Redmi Note 3 in March this year.
The beautifully designed 7.5mm ultra-thin metal body smartphone measures 173.1mm x 88.3m x 7.5m and weighs only 203g, i.e., significantly lower than other biz-sized smartphones available on the market. Mi Max is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and houses a massive 4850 mAh battery.
On the sideline of Mi Max, the Chinese smartphone major has also launched MIUI 8, an easy-to-use operating system that runs on every Xiaomi phone which will. The company has detailed the new features and major updates on the official website, including Gallery, Notes, Calculator, Scanner, and more.
Alongside a large battery, Xiaomi could fit a two-hybrid sim slot that supports 4G Dual SIM and dual standby. The Mi Max is priced from 1499 to 1999 yuan ($229 to $306) based on processor and storage capacity options.
The smartphone will be available in three storage capacity options – 3GB RAM with 32 GB and 64G internal memory and 4GB RAM with 128 GB of flash memory that can be expanded further up to 128GB via a microSD card.
On the camera part, Mi Max comes with a 16MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing selfie shooter that includes a fingerprint sensor. You can get each model in silver, gold, and grey, and all run MIUI8, the latest version of Xiaomi’s Android fork.
Since the smartphone is large in size, it is still pocketable and comes with fingerprint sensor technology and other features like an Infrared port and Mi Remote app for controlling appliances from hundreds of brands.
