If reports are to believe then Xiaomi to launch Redmi 2 Prime in India next week. which first broke the news that the Chinese smartphone giant has listed the device in Amazon India which they quickly removed from the e-commerce site.
Originally, the smartphone was launched in China last February as Redmi 2 Enhanced Edition with doubled RAM and storage capacity from earlier Redmi 2. The Redmi 2 Prime might have 2GB RAM and 16GB storage which is double the original 1GB RAM and 8GB storage found on the regular Redmi 2.
The new Redmi 2 Prime will feature 4.7 inch IPS HP capacitive touch screen with 1280 x 720 pixels display resolution and 312 ppi pixel density. The smartphone packs with Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor powered by a 2200mAh battery.
The camera might remain the same and will come with an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera and increased storage capacity which is expandable up to 32 GB with a microSD card. The removed product specifications on Amazon features that the Redmi 2 Prime is also supposed to run the same Android 4.4.4-based MIUI 6 operating system.
On the pricing part, the company has not listed on the website for pricing, we’ll have to wait for the actual official launch of the device.
