Last month China saw the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 11, the world’s first-ever smartphone to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. Now Xiaomi has its eyes set on the global launch of the same. Although the Chinese company has not yet shared details about the global launch of the smartphone, it did share a teaser poster about the smartphone that says “Mi 11 series Global Launch Coming Soon”.
Within just five minutes of the launch of the smartphone, the company has managed to sell around 350,000 units, and prior to the sale, the pre-orders for the smartphones exceeded 850,000 registration on various online platforms.
Besides the launch of the Mi 11 smartphone, the company will also launch a Pro variant of the same smartphone, dubbed as the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro. The phone is expected to launch in the coming months but the exact date is not yet known.
The Mi 11 smartphone features a 6.81-inch 2K display that offers 3200 x 1440 pixels, and offers a refresh rate of 120Hz, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Under the hood, the device is powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC coupled with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. It comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and a heart-rate scanner.
The backside of the smartphone features a triple-camera setup that consists of a 108MP primary sensor with f/1.85 aperture, a 13MP super wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field of view, and a 5MP telephoto-macro lens. On the front side, the device has a 20MP selfie camera.
The smartphone runs on the Android 11 operating system out-of-the-box with the MIUI 12 on top. Mi 11 sports a 4,600mAh battery that supports 55W fast charging, and 50W fast wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
