Xiaomi confirmed that it would be announcing several of its new devices and products on May 31. So far, the list includes the flagship smartphone Mi 8, MIUI 10, Mi Band 3, and even the Mi Router 4. There might as well be the introduction of the handsets Redmi 6, 6A, and 6 Pro.
Lei Jun, the company CEO today, May 28,, confirmed that he was wearing the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 at their BlackShark launch event last month. He added that he has been testing the wearable for the past two-three months.
Mi Band 3 will seemingly sport a large full-touch 2.5D curved glass display and will be ditching the physical button. Therefore, no more pressing the button to check stats; you can only slide the screen up and down to check the time, heart rate, and steps.
Another much-expected device of the Chinese tech giant is its new flagship handset, Mi 8. It is confirmed to be unveiled on May 31 and marks the eighth anniversary of the brand, as tweeted by Xiaomi.
Mi 8 will have an anticipated feature in the fingerprint sensor expected to be mounted below the screen. There will also be a face unlock system, not on the front camera, but a sensor like in iPhone X.
Speculations state that the phone might pack Snapdragon 845 and an OLED display with a notch. As for RAM and storage, the possibilities are 6/8GB RAM and 64/128GB internal. The storage may be expandable up to 256GB or 512GB.
The phone should be running Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9. A recent report says that pricing for the 6/64GB variant will be 2,799 Yuan or about Rs. 29,864, and the same for the 8/128GB variant will be 3,199 Yuan or about Rs. 34,131.
Xiaomi will hold its annual 2018 new product-launch event in Shenzhen in China on May 31, where we will get to know more details on the specs, price, and availability of the Mi 8. The launch may include several other accessories from the company.
