Xiaomi Mi 8 together with Poco F1 to launch in India soon; Mi 8 to hold a price tag of Rs.30,000

Xiaomi so far has launched two Qualcomm Snapdragon 845-powered flagships; the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and the Xiaomi Mi 8. And Xiaomi’s newly formed brand’s Poco F1 will be another Snapdragon 845-powered flagship by the company; the Chinese maker plans to develop even more phones. Recently as confirmed by Delhi dealers, Xiaomi had informed them about an impending arrival of the Mi 8, in India.

Xiaomi Mi 8 was first launched in China in May and had come with mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 710-powered Xiaomi Mi 8 SE as well as the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition. During its launch, the price was around CNY 2,699 and CNY 2,999 for the 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GM variants respectively. It is set to launch its latest flagship in India with lots of changes from its previous phones. It is to be available in White, Gold, Light Blue and Black as its color options.

Based on Android-Oreo MIUI 10 it offers a 6.21-inch display with an 18:7:9 aspect ratio 88% screen to body ratio, along with the Samsung AMOLED display, Full-HD resolution of 2248×1080 pixels. In addition, it also adds the new face unlock technology which can unlock the phone with the use of Infrared lens placed on the front side even in pitch darkness.

It is the brand’s first phone to come with a notch design. It has a metal and glass body with the fingerprint sensor mounted at the rear. Other sensors made available on board include the accelerometer, barometer, ambient light sensor, digital, gyroscope, compass, infrared, and a proximity sensor.

The novelty also offers two primary 12 MP cameras at the rear while a front selfie snapper is powered with a 20 MP lens. The other features include Studio Lighting with AI-enhanced portrait photography, AI scene detection, and video detection.

As far as the availability is concerned, the launch date is yet to be confirmed but as sources reveal it might happen within the end of August 2018. The expected price is to be around Rs 30,000 in India but the prices might change according to the options.
