Xiaomi released the first official teaser of its upcoming wrist wearable, the Xiaomi Mi Band 3. It featured the Mi Band 2, launched about 2 years ago.
The teaser came in the form of an image via Xiaomi’s official Twitter account. It displays the smart band with the tag ‘Can you guess what it is?’ It does look like the Mi Band 2 as there is no physical button.
While about 2 years have passed since the predecessor model, the arrival of Mi Band 3 during this time is pretty ideal. During the BlackShark launch of Xiaomi, CEO Lei Jun was wearing a similar smart band, which makes it more suggestive that an updated new model is just around the corner.
According to a report, Mi Band 3 was certified for Bluetooth connectivity months back. The absence of a physical button may suggest that the wearable will come off with an entirely new touchscreen display.
This is good news for fitness fanatics who would want more features in the Xiaomi Mi Band 3. The previous model is incredibly affordable but has been criticized for inconsistent heart rate monitoring. Also, many users think that the correspondent Mi-Fit app could do more. Xiaomi fans will expect it all to improve in the new model.
Launch or release dates, specs, and price details are yet unknown. However, the launch can’t be very far with the first official teaser already on the table.
