Xiaomi India has posted a teaser photo of its newest release today. Reportedly, the yet unidentified product will be released on 13th February. With the heading- “Guess who am ?️?” posted on social media, the tweet certainly intrigues us with its image and bold description- “Keep an EYE out. Always”.

Now, as per the report, the device launching could be the Xiaomi Mi Home Security Camera, which was unveiled last year in China and is available to buy there at a price of CNY 129 (roughly Rs. 1,400).

Mi Home Security Camera features video recording capabilities in 1080p, with a 360-degree viewing angle since it can be rotated completely, saying goodbye to the blind spots. The rotation motor has been created by Texas Instruments, guaranteeing a smooth and quiet rotation. The main chip of the camera is an Ambarella S3LM, designed for security cameras due to its low consumption, size, and versatility. The CMOS sensor is 1 / 2.7 inches, with good sensitivity to light.

It also has night vision using infrared lights around the lens at the wavelength of 940 nm. While other cameras make noise when they turn on the infrared lights, Xiaomi states that this model does not make that noise thanks to a silent system that they have incorporated, ideal for monitoring babies at night.

Thanks to being able to visualize everything that happens around you in the mobile app, it also adds a multitude of functions. One of them is bidirectional sound, being able to listen to what is in the environment of the camera, as well as emit sound through its speakers when we are at a distance. It is also possible to take photos and record videos. The microphone has noise reduction.

The Xiaomi Mi Home Smart Security Camera also allows us to make video calls or by the voice saying that we want to take a photo or record a video message of up to 10 seconds to the person we have preconfigured. It allows storing everything we record in a microSD card of up to 64 GB with loop mode, as well as sending the information to a NAS or another device through the Xiaomi router. Soon they will add the possibility of storing it in the cloud using AES128 encryption.

The WiFi is compatible both with bands of 2.4 and 5 GHz, improving the latter latency of the camera if we have the router close to receiving the images more smoothly and with less delay. The encoding in H.265 also reduces the coding time, reduces the necessary bandwidth, and allows storing twice as much video in the same card size.
