Xiaomi Mi Max Prime is the upgraded version of all its predecessor handsets in terms of CPU and memory, launched in India on October 10. A more interesting fact about this new launch is that the company hadn’t issued any press conference for its launch. Rather company introduced its new product in a very modest Diwali sale in India.

Comparing this new release with its former one, the customers get the same smartphone body, the same gargantuan 6.44-inch display running at 1080 by 1920 pixels, a 16MP primary camera on the back, a 5MP front-facing camera, as well as a 4850mAh battery. The only changes made are in the CPU and memory, as the original Xiaomi Mi Max features a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, a SoC that includes a Hexa-core CPU consisting out of four 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 CPU cores and two 1.8GHz Cortex-A72 CPU cores.

And in terms of memory, it is one step ahead as compared to the previous one as it has 128GB of integrated storage space and 4 GB of RAM, which is upgraded from 32 or 64GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM on the Mi Max. While updated Xiaomi Mi Max Prime comes with a Snapdragon 652 SoC, a chip that adds two 1.8GB Cortex-A72 CPU cores to the equation, transforming the CPU into an octa-endeavor.

The rest of the features are unchanged, including screen, resolution, battery capacity, and camera hardware. Max Prime has a 6.4-inch full HD display, a fingerprint sensor on the back, a 4,850mAh battery, a 16MP primary camera with dual-LED flash on the back, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus), and a 5MP front snapper with f/2.0 aperture. Moreover, Xiaomi disclosed that the Mi Max Prime would come in SD650/SD652 flavors as well as 64GB – 3GB / 128GB – 4GB versions.

The selling of this neoteric product will start on 17th October with the Mi Diwali sale. The current selling price of Xiaomi Mi Max Prime is Rs. 19,999, or about $300 at the current conversion rates. And as per the company’s very much known strategies, this phone will not be available in the US.
