Xiaomi is the first company to announce a device with the chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. The release of the device expected to contain the Mi 7 chipset was pushed back for some reason. Now, Xiaomi is going to introduce Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S as their first device featuring the Snapdragon 845.
The device will most likely sport a 3,400 mAh battery, an 18:9 display with 2160×1080 resolution, Android 8.0 Oreo, dual SIM support, and an IR blaster. The device has a code-name “Polaris” throughout the firmware and will feature an “AI Dual Camera,” which clearly sounds like an advanced version of the usual dual camera. From the design, the front camera appears at the display’s top right corner. However, another report says that the Mix 2S front-facing camera is placed at the bottom of the display.
Xiaomi Mi 7 could be the first Xiaomi device to support wireless charging. Google’s ARCore is looking forward to bringing augmented reality to millions of Android devices. The company has recently announced that they will be bringing ARCore 1.0, and the Mi Mix 2S will most probably support the augmented reality platform at launch.
