About two months back, the French designer Philippe Starck made a visit to Xiaomi’s Beijing headquarters, where it was revealed that he would design the Mi Mix 2. Well, last Thursday, Starck paid another visit to the tech giant’s headquarters, which can be termed a pre-launch visit for the next generation version of Xiaomi Mi Mix. The predecessor set was also designed by the French.
The designer was seen having a gala time with the staff in the photos shared by Xiaomi. It was clearly stated by the staff in the headquarters that the principal purpose of the visit was to discuss the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. This was directly agreed to by the CEO of Xiaomi as well. Further details are yet to be revealed, but we will know more in time.
Present uncertain rumors state that the Mi Mix 2 is set to release by next month. There was an earlier rumor concluding that Mi Mix 2 is to debut in the second half of 2017, the half that starts next month. Even if July 2017 doesn’t see the release, it is certain that Xiaomi will not wait much longer. It might also happen that Mi Mix 2 and Mi Note 3 are launched together, as happened in the case of Galaxy Note 2 and Xiaomi’s first-gen Mi Mix.
As for the features, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 may pack an in-display fingerprint technology for security. This would make the next-gen Mi Mix the first smartphone manufactured by a Chinese company to include this feature. The Mi Mix 2 is to better the 91.3% screen-to-body ratio of its predecessor as well. Numerous other innovative features are waiting for the already excited future users of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2.
