The Data Free Travel service basically is a traffic management service launched by the Chinese tech giant for the 4G version of Mi Notebook. Users need to scan the QR code on their mobile phones and register with the service, and Xiaomi Notebooks can use data traffic through the ‘Data Free Travel’ to go online.
The post read, “Thank you for your long-term support. I regret to inform you that due to business adjustments, the free data travel function will be fully serviced on July 30, 2021. After the service is stopped, the device will no longer support LTE Internet services.”
In a notice, the company has requested the users not to recharge again to prevent abnormal situations and property losses caused by the offline of the functional business.
The users have been asked to contact the customer service to apply for a refund for the existing balance in the Data Free Travel account. After the service stops on July 30, 2021, the existing users will no longer be able to use all the business functions of Freedom of the data, and the device will stop supporting LTE Internet services.
Now that Xiaomi has taken a major decision that will affect many users, it might come up with an alternate option. However, whether Xiaomi Mi Notebook will launch new alternative functions has not been officially confirmed yet.
