Xiaomi recently announced that it would be launching a sweeping robotic device, the Mijia. Mijia was first introduced as the sweeping device back in 2016, following the nature and characteristics of the Roomba. The second Mijia device would obviously be an upgraded version of the last one, and the users may expect a better version this time.
According to Xiaomi Mijia, the new Mijia sweeping robot now comes with LDS laser navigation, equipped with the built-in new generation laser scanning system. The scanning system with laser navigation can now navigate through the working path and intelligently identify the room.
The robot itself will have the Mijia app to function more properly. The user can control the device through the app, and give certain commands to it. Also, the users can specify which areas to sweep, create virtual walls to avoid certain areas, label some areas as being restricted, among other commands for the device to complete cleaning thoroughly and efficiently.
The Mijia device has a unique repeated mopping path design which can produce artificially simulated repeated friction and wipe more cleanly. The sweeping mode will be divided into three different modes, sweeping and dragging, single sweeping, and single mopping. The maximum suction can reach 2100Pa.
In terms of appearance, the Mijia device appears to be very basic with zero embellishments. The device comes with black and white color schemes, and Xiaomi’s iconic orange is used as an embellishment to make it stand out as a Xiaomi device.
On the robot’s body is a Home button and the Power button. The device will officially go on sale on 16th August at 10:00, and it is priced at 1999 yuan. However, the starting price for this device is 1799 yuan. The Mijia is expected to be an instant hit with the customers.
