Xiaomi released its first walkie-talkie back in 2017, Last October. It was released at the price of $35 for Mijia Walkie Talkie 1s, which received even more features than the original model.
Now Xiaomi introduces the new Xiaomi Mijia Walkie Talkie 2, which offers even more functionality. Xiaomi Mijia Walkie Talkie 2 is already equipped with a 1.77-inch LCD display, which displays more characters and information, such as battery level. The information can be well read even in direct sunlight.
This dual-band (UHF / VHF) radio is characterized by the transmission power of 5 W, which allows you to communicate at a distance of up to 6 km. Next to the antenna is a knob to control the volume.
Another innovation of the Mijia Walkie Talkie 2 is the increased battery capacity. The handheld transceiver is equipped with a 5200 mAh battery, which is more than twice as large as the Mijia Walkie Talkie 1s (2190 mAh). In standby mode, the radio will last up to 13 days and provide up to 15 hours of talk time when fully charged. Charging is carried out through the USB-C connector with a current of 2 A at a voltage of 5 V.
They arrive with a super antenna of 13 cm long to improve the quality of the calls and the frequency range. They also have the support of the Mi Home application for locating people who have the walkie-talkie; this is a strong point if we go to places where communication between people is difficult, and some of the hikers may be lost. The antenna of these walkie-talkies admits two frequency bands at the same time. The maximum working distance between the two is up to 6 kilometers around.
It is possible to connect headsets via Bluetooth and 3.5 mm audio jack. The speaker in this model is larger and 22% louder than the previous generation. Mijia Walkie Talkie 2 is IP65 rated. The price of the model is 67 dollars, sales will begin on April 9th.
