As rumoured earlier, Xiaomi India has slashed price of Redmi 2 by Rs 1000 and now the phone is available at 5,999 in its official website. Users can also exchange their old phone and avail special exchange offer on FlipKart at Rs 3,999.
The Xiaomi Redmi 2 smartphone which was originally launched in India on March this year at Rs 6,999 comes in grey and while colour and supports 4G Dual SIM. The device is powered by Snapdragon 410 64 bit processor and 4.7 inch HD display giving user a better experience.
The phone also comes with USB OTG and runs on Xiaomi’s own MIUI 6 which lets users to discover new functions, shortcuts, customizations and animations and supports Android 4.4 KitKat. Xiaomi Redmi 2 has an internal storage at 8GB and can be further expanded via microSD card. You can shoot HDR, panorama, fisheye with 8MP rear camera along with a 2MP front-facing camera applying 36 smart filters.
The new version will be lighter to its predecessors and weighs only 133g and thinner at 9.4mm. On the battery part it comes with 2200mAh Sony/LG lithium-ion polymer battery which has 10% more capacity compared to Redmi 1S.
