Xiaomi Redmi S2 has been reported all around the web, and most of the basic specs have surfaced from multiple trusted sources. But, there’s no detail yet on the launch and availability details. Given all that, the phone has recently appeared in Vietnam and a Mi Store in the Czech Republic.
Xiaomi Redmi S2 appeared in Vietnam with the price tag of 3,999 Vietnamese Dong or 45,125 Hungarian Forint. It is available for 0% credit in the said country. It also showed up on the shelf of a Mi Store in the Czech Republic with no price tag or other details.
The phone bears a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display supporting 1440 x 720 pixels with the standard 18:9 aspect ratio. There have been different conclusions regarding the battery, but several trusted sources state that the device hosts a Li-PO non-removable battery with 3080mAh.
It is powered by Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocking at 2.0Ghz with Adreno 506 GPU. There are seemingly three storage variants: 2GB+16GB, 3GB+32GB, and 4GB+64GB. The slot for the second SIM in the phone will also support an SD card to expand the memory up to 256GB.
Redmi S2 has a rear dual camera setup carrying 12 MP and 5 MP sensors. The front camera offers a 16 MP sensor. The phone will run MIUI 9.5 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Among other features are Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro USB 2.0, a rear-mounted fingerprint reader, and FM radio.
The five color options for the device are Black, Blue, Gold, Red, and Silver.
