Xiaomi has launched its first Redmi branded laptop, the RedmiBook 14. Xiaomi unveiled the laptop along with its two new smartphones, the Redmi K20, and the Redmi K20 Pro, in Beijing, China. The RedmiBook runs on the eighth-gen Intel Core i7 processor along with the NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics card.
The RedmiBook 14 has a 14-inch screen with an 81.2% screen ratio. The RedmiBook features 8 GB RAM with an up to 512 GB solid-state drive. There is one thing unique about the RedmiBook, it has a new cooling system to make sure that the heat is always kept in check. Moreover, it also features an intake vent area of 2530 mm to help with the cooling.
RedmiBook 14 has the standard keyboard, just like any other laptops available on the market. The keyboard features a travel distance of 1.3mm and 19mm wide keys. Apart from this standard keyboard, it also supports a multitouch gesture-supporting touchpad to make typing and working on the laptop easier. Apart from the pretty standard features, what stands out the most about this laptop, is its battery, Xiaomi claims that RedmiBook 14 will be able to deliver up to 10 hours of long battery life, that too on a single charge. It will take the laptop only 34 minutes to reach 50% of charge. RedmiBook runs on Windows 10 an sports an Intelligent Unlock 2.0 feature.
The Intelligent lock will help to unlock the laptop from the standby mode in just 1.2 seconds. Furthermore, RedmiBook will come preloaded with Microsoft Office Home and Student Edition. It weighs about 1.5 kg and is 17.95mm in thickness.
The RedmiBook 14 price in China starts at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 40,300) for the base variant with Intel Core i5 processor and 256GB SSD storage, while its 512GB SSD model comes at CNY 4,299 (roughly Rs. 43,300). There is also the top-end model with eighth-generation Intel Core i7 processor and 512GB SSD at CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs. 50,400).
