The new series of smartphones from the Xiaomi MIX series will revolutionize the way we think of photography. The Chinese tech giant has confirmed the upcoming Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will come with liquid lenses.
Before diving deep into the features of the liquid lens, it should be taken a note that Lei Jun has not confirmed the name of the smartphone yet; however, there have been a few reports which show that the new addition to the Mi MIX series is likely to be either the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 or the Mi MIX Fold.
The liquid lens that is being highlighted here certainly does seem to be unprecedented. No other smartphone has ever been equipped with such technology before. However, another Chinese company Huawei too is working on developing a new liquid lens, and perhaps the upcoming P50 series might come equipped with the said lens.
Liquid lenses are usually made from a liquid possessing optical properties which can adjust the mass comfortably to the virtual plane instantaneously. This lens also possesses the ability to improve autofocus and stabilization. Moreover, it also makes the work easier for the smartphone manufacturer as it does not require the insertion of large and bulky sensors into the smartphone’s body.
A few reports claim that the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone with the liquid lens will have a system that will integrate both a telephoto lens and a macro module. The focus plan can change in a matter of milliseconds and switch from one perspective to another almost instantaneously while producing sharper, more defined photos.
it has certainly created a murmur among the fans. Now what remains is the unveiling of the device itself. Notably, Xiaomi will host an event on March 29th that will work as the stage to introduce the new smartphone from the MIX series.
