It seems like Xiaomi has ventured into more domains that it had not touched before. The brand is becoming popular from delivering affordable household Smart systems to TVs and Mobile to anything you name it.
EUIPO stands for the European Union Intellectual Property Office who look after the trademarking of patented products had first surfaced back in 2016 when Apple had won a case against Xiaomi for losing a battle for the trademark where Xiaomi had filed a trademark for Mi Pad and Apple had challenged the trademark rights stating to EUIPO that it sounds very similar to iPad.
This time a screenshot has been circulated by Twitter user Mukul Sharma which bears the trademarking of Xiaomi AlwaysNext with the serial number from the EUIPO being 018297589. The application is under examination as of 28th August 2020 and Xiaomi has filed for the trademark on the 20th of this month, it seems.
The Language for the filing is English and Xiaomi has opted for an individual kind of trademark this time. The name would be Xiaomi AlwaysNext or only AlwaysNext where there will be a reproduction of the mark in standard characters and it has been filed via Xiaomi’s representative LANE IP LIMITED.
The nature of the product in question for which the trademark has been opted for has not been known and it can be guessed that it will be some kind of software or application from the house of Xiaomi. We need to wait until there are further confirmations from the company itself.
